My Experience

Jim FreemanI received my undergraduate degree, with high honors, from the University of Florida in 1975. I received my Juris Doctorate degree from Boston University School of Law in 1978.

I began 20 years of defense practice in the trial section of Shackelford, Farrior, Stallings & Evans, P.A. in 1978. In 1980, I joined Shear, Newman & Hahn, P.A. and eventually became a shareholder and member of the Board of Directors of Shear, Newman, Hahn & Rosenkranz, P.A.  I represented plaintiffs at Wilkes & McHugh, P.A. from 1999 to 2013.

I am AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell, a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), and was named one of the Top 100 Trail Lawyers of 2013 by the National Trial Lawyers Association.

I am licensed to practice law in the State of Florida.  I was formerly licensed to practice in the states of Arizona, Kentucky, Mississippi, Tennessee and Pennsylvania. I have been admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court of Appeals – Fifth and Eleventh Circuits, the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida, the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi, and the United States Tax Court.

In addition, I have served on the Health Law Committee and the Code and Rules of Evidence Committee for the Florida Bar, as well as on the 13-F Grievance Committee. I have lectured at risk management seminars and CLE programs on medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, dental malpractice, and legal malpractice.

Handling a wide variety of claims, with more than 30 years of Experience
