Notable Verdicts
Morehead v. Little Rock Health Care and Rehabilitation Center:
A Pulaski County, Ark., jury awarded more than $1.5 million to the family of a man who suffered a fractured hip, severe bedsores and infections in a Little Rock nursing home that did not have enough staff to care for all of the residents.
Shaw v. Compton Management Inc.:
An Arkansas nursing home chain was ordered to pay $12.3 million to the family of a woman who fell out of bed, broke her hip and had her pain medications stolen by the nursing staff. She died two weeks later.
Lymon v. Bynum Transport, Inc.:
A Polk County, Florida, jury awarded $65 million to the guardian of a 19-year-old girl who was catastrophically injured when a tractor trailer T-boned her small car. The award was upheld on appeal.
Goldberg v. SkyBlue USA, LLC:
After a two-week trial, a California jury awarded $5.5 million to the widow and young children of a man killed in a plane crash on Santa Catalina Island off the coast of California.
